Attention ladies or those individuals that require smaller diameters to accommodate their wrist size, for Breguet has just updated their Breguet Classique 8068 Collection. A new pair of gold crafted watches with diamond-studded bezels were recently released. But despite all the bling one of these models main highlights is the inclusion of three interchangeable straps in the same boxed set with a rapid interchange system. The Breguet Classique 8068 30mm case is available in either 18k white or rose gold with finely crafted and polished surfaces, while the casebands are decorated with a fluted pattern that enriches most of its 7.7mm height. Mounted to both cases is a gold bezel set with 64 diamonds which spill over into the lug sections. On the flip-side is a sapphire exhibition caseback that reveals a richly decorated movement. The bridges and platinum oscillating weight have all been finely hand-engraved with chamfered finishes and a Côtes de Genève motif. Unlike previous editions that had their setting-crown fitted with a blue sapphire, this new release is now fitted with a cabochon-cut diamond. The long thin lugs have also been welded on with screw bars for a reinforced hold. All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 30 meters (98 feet). Time is exhibited on a hybrid dial that includes a mother-of-pearl chapter ring circling around the flange with Breguet’s signature Arabic numerals, followed by a ring of dotted hour/minute index markers. The mother-of-pearl portion is adorned with a very fine guilloché pattern handcrafted by the Manufacture’s highly-skilled artisans. While in contrast the center of the dial is completely decorated by a hand-engraved pattern on a rose engine. On the upper-half of the dial, underneath the 12 o’clock position, Breguet has also added an oval cartouche that bears the brand logo and the “N° 3390” inscription. The central open-tipped Breguet hours/minutes hands are made of blued steel.
The “Breguet Classique Dame 8068” (Ref#: 8068BB in White gold or Ref#: 8068BR in Rose gold) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 537/3 with 20 jewels, 191 parts, 8¾ lines, and 21,600 vph. It comes equipped with a silicon balance spring, which enhances its resistance to magnetic fields. Power reserve can last up to 45 hours, when fully wound. Mounted to the watch the user can choose between three interchangeable straps. A black satin fabric or two colorful alligator straps in teal blue and Byzantium purple for the white gold version, or peacock blue and raspberry pink for the rose gold version; all secured by a gold buckle. Plus thanks to a rapid interchange system, the wearer can easily switch from one strap to another by simply pressing the pusher located under the strap, after moving it between a 45 to 60 degree angle.
